The age group from young adults to early 40s are the victims of the most amount of crimes in LA. Young women were the biggest target for crimes. While age seems to be a factor in susceptibility to crime, gender does not seem to be very significant. For the most part, extremely young and extremely old people experienced the least amount of crime!

According to US Census Data in 2022 the population of Los Angeles was 3,822,224, with 1,919,066 males and 1,903,158 females. The pie chart indicates men are slightly more susceptible to being victims of crime.
Our data indicates that women take longer to report crimes than men. Women took 17 days on average while men took 12 days on average. This may indicate a fear by women of not being believed or of an unspoken stigma around reporting crimes. There is a wide variety in our data for when people report crimes. While the mean is relatively low, there are clearly lots of outliers that indicate people take various amounts of time to report crimes.
